TeliaSonera Group underlined that net sales of its Uzbek subsidiary comprised SEK 120 million or US$15.039 million in July-September 2008.
The interim report said the number of subscriber of Coscom reach 2.056 million, of which 1.956 million subscribers use paid in advance and pre-paid cards.
MOU (Monthly Average Minutes of Use per User) made up 166 minutes in the third quarter of 2008 or decreased from 264 minutes in the same period of 2007.
Coscom (operating under UCell brand) is a part of Telia Sonera group of companies and is one of the leading mobile operators in Uzbekistan rendering mobile communication services in the country for more than 12 years. The company’s main direction of activity is development of modern mobile communication system in GSM 900/1800 standard.
TeliaSonera provides telecommunication services in the Nordic and Baltic countries, in Spain and the emerging markets of Eurasia, including Russia and Turkey.
TeliaSonera acquired US-based MCT Corp., which has a controlling shareholding in Coscom, in July 2007 for US$292 million in a move to expand beyond its Nordic home market.
