Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Ilhom Khaydarov met with Singapore’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, Zulkifli Baharudin.

Ambassador Baharudin highlighted the keen interest of the Singaporean government and business community in Uzbekistan’s large-scale reforms, aimed at improving citizens’ lives, strengthening the national economy, and enhancing the country’s international standing. The Singaporean side expressed confidence in the prospects for deepening cooperation with Uzbekistan.

The meeting emphasized that mutual presidential visits between Uzbekistan and Singapore in 2023 provided a significant impetus for strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The parties discussed implementing high-level agreements, expressing interest in further expanding political dialogue, enhancing business interactions, and exchanging expertise in education and the training and retraining of managerial personnel.

Special focus was given to fostering partnerships in trade and investment, accelerating joint projects in agriculture, textile, and food industries, as well as in stock markets.

The parties also exchanged views on strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, including resuming direct flights, increasing tourism, and boosting healthcare collaboration.
