Contemporary Choreography Contest ends in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Fifth Contemporary Choreography and Sport Plastic Art International Contest, a project of Gulnara Karimova, completed its work in Tashkent on 19 August 2013.

The project was organized by Fund Forum, Fund for Support of Children Sport, Ministry of Public Education, Federation of Trade Unions at the support of the US Embassy in Uzbekistan and Israeli Cultural Center. Beeline, Lukoil, Podium Italia, RedTag are among sponsors of the contest.

This year, over 800 people from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan participated at the event.

The participants presented their performances in such areas as Sports and ballroom dancing; Folk dances; Street-dance; Modern dance (free-style); and Sports acrobatics and calisthenics. The qualification rounds were held on 17-18 August and the gala concert wrapped up the project on 19 August 2013. Over 7,000 people visited the qualification rounds.

The gala-concert was held at City Makon Complex in Tashkent. Large number of people arrived to the complex to watch performances of rollers, skaters, cyclists, dancers, and others.

About 200 dancers of Street Fest block participated in the battles in five nominations – hip-hop junior, hip-hop professional, dance hall, popping, and break dance. Bryan Tyger-B Marshal of the US, Oleg Davidovskiy from Israel, Viktor "Vitek" Kvyatkovsky of Russia and Katya Harchenko from Ukraine will rate the performances of the participants.

Nikita Bukovskiy won in the nomination hip-hop junior, Ruslan Voisov - hip-hop professional, Yuliya Yagayeva – dance hall, Sergey Zlotnikov – popping, and B-boy Felix – break dance.

Schastlivoye Detstvo of Navoi region became the winner in nomination of folk dances. Serpantinki (Tashkent) and Shashu (Astana) were the second and third respectively.

Flashdance (Navoi region), Nafis (Tashkent) and Forum Yunior Sport claimed the first, second and third places respectively in Modern dance nomination.

Markand (Samarkand) won in the nomination Street dance, Zlotnikov Dance Center and Apokalipsis claimed the second and third places.
