Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The first stage of construction of a new airfield complex has begun at Andijan International Airport.
As part of the reconstruction, the construction of a new airfield complex is envisaged, including a runway 3,400 meters long and 60 meters wide, taxiways, and an apron with seven parking spaces for aircraft. Also, modern lighting equipment of the second ICAO category (CAT-II) will be installed at the airfield complex, which will allow receiving/departing all types of aircraft at night and in difficult weather conditions.
The existing airport runway is 2985 meters long and 44 meters wide due to low load-bearing capacity coverage had restrictions on the reception of many types of aircraft, and also due to the lack of a modern lighting system, there were restrictions on the reception of aircraft at night.
The project will be implemented in the period 2023-2024.
The implementation of the project contributes to the development of tourism and improvement of the investment climate in the region.
