Representative of Uzbek ministries and departments, valuation companies, banks, audit and insurance companies, universities and other organizations participated at the meeting.
Independent valuation forms information base for adoption of effective decisions both in private and state sectors of economy, protection of rights of property owners.
Aziz Abduhakimov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of Uzbekistan, said valuation of property became important aspect of market relations in the country and it promotes development of such processes as privatization, attraction of investors, mortgage and consumer crediting, insurance business, etc.
UNDP Uzbekistan and the State Property Committee launched a project "Support to development of valuation methodology and practice in Uzbekistan" in November 2008 to develop valuation activity.
Shirin Dosumova, Head of Economic Governance Unit of UNDP Uzbekistan, said the project is aimed at assisting to development of valuation activity through preparation of four important documents - the Concept on development of valuation activity in Uzbekistan for 2010-2012 and three new national standards of valuation activity and corresponding methodological recommendations.
She said that local and international consultants developed the Concept and project of standards and methodical recommendations, which have been posted at official website of the State Property Committee.
Aziz Nagaev, head of department of licensing of valuation and exchange activity of the State Property Committee, said that the Concept is aimed at developing independent valuation in Uzbekistan and improving professional level and quality of valuation services, as well as effective regulation of valuation organizations in Uzbekistan.
The project of national standards of valuation in privatization was also presented during the event.
At the end of the presentation, participants had opportunity to share their opinion, remarks and recommendations on presented documents.
