Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From January to September 2024, Uzbekistan’s Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection received 20,872 complaints from citizens.
According to the committee, the majority of complaints concerned housing, utilities, and transportation services — 7,634 complaints (36.6%), followed by trade and public catering — 7,697 complaints (36.9%). In the fields of communications, finance, and social services, there were 4,886 complaints (23.4%), while 655 complaints (3.1%) were related to advertising.
As a result of the investigations into these complaints, the rights of 8.9 million consumers were protected, and financial adjustments were made in their favor, amounting to 113 billion soums.
