Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A post circulated on social media revealed that the Bukhara State Medical Institute had held a tender worth 8.6 billion soums for the purchase of a so-called “smart greenhouse” — a multi-level, container-type vertical structure designed for growing leafy greens.

Following the public disclosure of this information online, the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Protection received an official complaint, which prompted the launch of an investigation.

As a result of the inquiry, the Committee found evidence of potential violations of Article 29 of the Law “On Competition” in the organization of the tender process by the institute. A formal legal case has been initiated in accordance with established procedures.

The Committee will announce the outcome of the case upon completion of its review.
