Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection of Uzbekistan has initiated a case against Anglesey Food (the Korzinka supermarket chain) for alleged misleading advertising.

According to the committee, specialists analyzed the company’s advertising materials containing phrases such as "Lowest prices on daily purchases," "Lowest prices at Korzinka," and "Come for the most advantageous deals!"

The committee emphasized that such claims could mislead consumers. During a promotional campaign, a catalog of essential goods was presented, with price comparisons sourced from various supermarkets and markets.

It was found that prices for certain items advertised as "lowest" did not significantly differ from prices for similar products in other supermarkets and markets. Therefore, the committee stated that this advertising could be considered deceptive to consumers.

A case has been filed against the company under Article 16 Part 1 of the Advertising Law and Article 6 Part 1 of the Consumer Rights Protection Law.
