On 24 October 2017, the Coordination Council of the Innovation Center adopted a protocol according to which the legal entities working in the area of Software Release (OKED 58.2) can now obtain the status of the resident of the Innovation Center “Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center”.

According to the decision of the Coordination Council of the Innovation Center, legal entities, releasing computer games (OKED 58210) and other software (OKED 58290) may qualify for obtaining the resident status of the Innovation Center “Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center”.

Prior to the adoption of this decision by the Coordination Council of the Innovation Center, legal entities working only in the field of "Computer programming, consulting and other related services" and "Data hosting and processing services, Web portals" could obtain the status of Resident Innovation Center.

Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center was created in line with the presidential decree and on principle of extraterritoriality and operate within all territory of Uzbekistan with accommodation of its residents throughout the country.

The Center is created to create favorable conditions for formation and active development of high-tech industries based on the use of ICT, further deepening the integration of science, education and production in this industry.

President of Uzbekistan granted a number of privileges and preferences to the participants of the Innovation Center for support of development and implementation of information technologies “Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center”. In particular, the residents of the center are exempted from paying taxes and compulsory payments till 1 January 2028.

Employees of the residents of the Innovation Center will pay personal income tax at the rate of 7.5% and insurance premiums of citizens to off-budget Pension Fund at the rate of 4.5%.
