Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During his working visit to Riyadh, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with the Minister of Investments of Saudi Arabia, Khalid Al-Falih.
The meeting focused on further deepening practical cooperation, particularly in the implementation of priority investment projects in Uzbekistan, taking into account previously reached high-level agreements.
The dynamic development of multifaceted Uzbek-Saudi partnership in recent years was noted with satisfaction. Mutual trade volumes are increasing, cooperation is expanding, and the frequency of air travel continues to rise.
It is expected that by the end of 2024, Saudi companies will have invested approximately US$2.5 billion in Uzbekistan.
Special attention was given to promoting promising projects in key sectors such as "green" energy, healthcare, modernization of transport infrastructure, heating and water supply, as well as agriculture and housing and utilities.
In this context, the importance of preparing for the next session of the Intergovernmental Commission, which is to be held in Tashkent, was emphasized.
