Civil society realizes 60% of projects within State programme “The Year of Harmonically Developed Generation”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Civil society are realizing about 60% of projects within the State programme “The Year of Harmonically Developed Generation”. This was said at the roundtable in Samarkand, which discussed the role of NGOs in implementation of social-economic and other publically important tasks.

National Association of NGOs of Uzbekistan (NANGO) and Institute of Studying Civil Society organized the event with the representatives of NGOs, civil institutes and state structures of Samarkand.

According to participants, NANGO, which should consolidate efforts of NGOs, carried out significant work in strengthening social partnership for last five-year activity.

Member of NANGO Council in Samarkand region Ms. Kulieva said the association carried out several joint projects with other NGOs. She said that currently the association consolidates and coordinates activity of the majority NGOs in Uzbekistan and helps to solve actual issues in time.

Currently experts note growth and strengthening of social partnership between state and civil sector. This can be seen even in implementation of the State programme “The Year of Harmonically Developed Generation”. Over 60% of projects within the programme are realized with participation of hundreds NGOs.

During the roundtable, it was noted that NANGO is planning to continue to attract NGOs to implementation of important state programmes. It was decided that coordination council will be created under regional administration and it will unite representatives of NGOs and state bodies.

Experts believe that this will help to support regular dialogue between state sector and NGOs and adopt concrete action plans on holding important events. NANGO also plans to boost ties with MPs of local council.
