CIS Prime Ministers hold discussions in Saint Petersburg

The CIS Prime Ministers approved a draft plan on main measures on preparing and celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War in 1941-1945.

They also adopted the decision on other draft documents. They signed a protocol on introduction of changes to the agreement on rules of determining of the goods of origin in the CIS from 20 November 2009, approved strategy on cooperation within the member states of the CIS in tourism sector till 2020, the concept of cooperation of the CIS states in use of renewable sources of energy and the primary action plan on its implementation.

The agreement on cooperation of the CIS states in ensuring information security was also signed. They approved the concept on formation and development of inter-state systems on training, professional education and improving skills of cadres in the sphere of scientific-technical information, single methodology of the foreign trade statistics in the CIS in new edition, the action plan on implementation of the strategy on international youth cooperation within the CIS till 2020, the concept of development of the single system on the state radar identification.

Prime Ministers of the CIS also considered execution of the agreement on free trade zone from 18 October 2011. They adopted decision on implementation of regulations of the agreement on holding negotiations on developing the draft agreement on transit through pipe transport, a protocol on decreasing and step-by-step abolishment of export duties in trade within the member states of the agreement, protocol on determining liabilities of the sides in relation of rules and procedures regulating public procurement.

The forecast on production and consumption of energy resources of the CIS states till 2020 was approved. The participants considered information on activities of the Council on cooperation in healthcare industry in the CIS, on creation of regular exhibitions of the CIS states at the base of Russian Exhibition Center in Moscow, on implementation of the intergovernmental radio navigation programme, on execution of the plan on transfer of transferring production base of inter-governmental television and radio company MIR to modern digital and multimedia technologies.

The decision on continuation of activities on searching of soldiers, who missed during the war in Afghanistan in 1979-1989, places of their burial, exhumation, identification and reburial of the remains in their home countries for 2014-2018 was adopted.

They also considered other issues, including budget-financial and organizational issues of the CIS activities.

They also adopted decision to hold next session of the Council in Kiev, Ukraine, on 30 May 2014.
