CIS Defense Ministers to gather in Moscow

Chairperson of the Executive committee and Executive Secretary of the CIS Sergey Lebedev will also participate at the event.

It is expected that the delegation of the defense ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine will participate in the meeting.

The CIS defense ministers will consider over 20 issues of military cooperation within the organization.

It is planned to consider results of activities of working bodies of the Council in 2013, issues of cooperation in exchange of geological space information, gather and exchange information on disable aviation equipment, modernization and repair of engineer arms, supply of spare parts, etc.

They will also consider creation of united system of control and assessment on radiation, chemical and biological situation of the defense ministers of the CIS, hydrometeorological support of joint operations and drills, training of anti-terrorism specialists, and other issues.

Ministers of defense will discuss issues of holding Olympics students of higher military-educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense of the CIS, various sport championships and organization of the CIS training center on international security.

The sides will outline joint measures of the united system of anti-air attack of the CIS in 2014.

At the session, it is planned to adopt decisions on financial, cadre and procedural issues.
