CIS Defence Ministers endorse military cooperation concept until 2015
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Defence Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) approved military cooperation concept until 2015 in their meeting in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on 10 November.
The meeting of Defence Ministers was attended by delegations from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
The participants have endorsed the main directions of the Unified Air Defense System’s development until 2015. The ministers have also discussed celebration of 65th anniversary of the Victory in World War Two.
During their meeting, CIS Defence Ministers considered over 20 issues on various aspects of multilateral cooperation and integration.
The next session of the council is scheduled for April 2010.
