Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Chinese company Zheijang Commercial Building will build a hydroelectric power station in Andijan region.
This agreement was reached between the administration of Andijan region and the Chinese company Zheijang Commercial Building.
Cooperation between the parties began with a project to build a hydroelectric power station worth $200 million and with a capacity of 118 megawatts. Today the parties are expanding their cooperation.
During recent negotiations in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China with the company’s management, an agreement was reached on the construction of a hydroelectric power station in Andijan with a total capacity of 300 megawatts.
The total cost of this project is US$500 million.
At the first stage, investment funds in the amount of US$50 million will be used.
After its launch, the hydroelectric power station will be able to provide electricity to more than half of the Andijan region.
