Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 22 November 2024, the representative office of the Export-Import Bank of China (Exim Bank of China) was officially opened in Tashkent.
This marks a new stage in the development of economic cooperation between China and Uzbekistan, as well as with neighboring countries in Central Asia and the South Caucasus.
With the constant support of the Exim Bank of China, over 50 projects have already been implemented in Uzbekistan, with a total value exceeding US$3 billion. These projects span key sectors of the economy, including the chemical industry, energy, transportation, information technology, agriculture, and water management.
The opening of the regional office in Tashkent expands the geographical scope of the Exim Bank's operations. The Tashkent office will now coordinate the bank's activities in eight countries: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia.
