COMAC is currently working over two passenger airplanes – C919 single-aisle airliner and ARJ21-700 regional jet. Currently, the airplanes are undergoing testing and certification process.

Chinese company started to develop ARJ21-700 airplane in 2002. It has 78 to 90 seats with the flight covering 2,225 to 3,700 kilometers. The company already received orders for 252 airplanes.

With the range being 4,075 to 5,555 kilometers, C919 features 158 to 168 seats. Currently the project demonstration, feasibility study and pre-development have been finished, followed by engineering development and the detailed design currently in place. The parts and components have been put into full production and the assembly of larger parts has been launched one after another. The accumulative order has reached 400 planes.

It is worth to mention that COMAC uses components and spare parts, supplied b such firms as GE, Honeywell, Rockwell Collins, UTAS, Parker Aerospace, CFM and others at production f the planes. The ventures were also set up to produce components for these planes in China.

Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd. was founded on 11 May 2008. Its headquarters are in Shanghai. COMAC is the main vehicle in implementing large passenger aircraft programs in China. It is also mandated with the overall planning of developing trunk liner and regional jet programs and realizing the industrialization of civil aircraft in China. COMAC is engaged in the research, manufacture and flight tests of civil aircraft and related products, as well as marketing, servicing, leasing and operations of civil aircraft.
