Uzbekistan 30/10/2007 China PM to come up with new offers on SCO cooperation
At a regular meeting of SCO prime ministers on 2 November , Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao is expected to come up with several offers on expanding regional cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Assistant Foreign Minister Li Hui informed reporters on Monday about an upcoming foreign tour of the Chinese prime minister, during which he will visit Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Belarus and Russia.

The diplomat said "a joint communique and a special plan of economic cooperation" would be approved on the results of a meeting of six prime ministers in Tashkent. They will also "sign agreements concerning customs activity, mutual assistance and some others".

Within the framework of the meeting, Wen Jiabao will hold separate talks with his counterparts from the countries, having an observer status at the SCO, - India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan. Besides, representatives from Afghanistan and Turkmenistan will be present at the talks.

The prime ministers are expected to exchange opinions concerning the implementation of agreements reached at a meeting in Dushanbe one year ago, and to determine a mechanism for the implementation of the agreements which CSO leaders signed at a summit in Bishkek last summer.

At the present day, the prestige of SCO is growing, and cooperation between its member-states is progressing in many directions. The Chinese diplomat reminded reporters about a recent successful anti-terrorist exercise. This, according to him, "proves that cooperation on security issues has entered a new phase".
