Chimgan Challenge festival kicks off in Bostanlak

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 February, a training seminar organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports for participants representing all government departments of the Republic of Uzbekistan responsible for promoting a healthy lifestyle was held in Bostanlyk district as part of the Chimgan Challenge international sports festival.

In pursuance of Presidential Decree “On measures to widely introduce a healthy lifestyle and further develop mass sports in all government departments, employees of the labor collective with the additional task of “sport propagandist” were identified, who were given a 20% bonus.

The speakers of the seminar were Zarrina Abdullayeva, Head of the Department for the Development of Mass Sports of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Nodira Khudaiberdiyeva, Head of the Department of the University of Physical Culture, and Parviz Fattoev, a presenter and journalist. During the event, the objectives of the development of mass sports, effective cooperation with the media and more were discussed.

The participants of the seminar shared their opinion with great desire, and also made proposals for the further development of a healthy lifestyle among civil servants, agreed to create a platform where they would exchange experience and share the work done.

“The main objectives of the festival are to unite all promoters of a healthy lifestyle, attract the general population to active activities and develop mass sports, because the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic showed us a low level of physical health and a healthy lifestyle of the population of Uzbekistan, as in a number of other countries ", - said Zarrina Abdullayeva.

On 17-18 February, there will be competitions between participants in badminton, chess, mini-football, snowboarding, skiing and national sports such as tug-of-war and archery.
