ChatGPT developer registers in Uzbekistan for VAT payments
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 8 April, OpenAI officially registered in Uzbekistan as an electronic services provider. This information was published on the website of the Tax Committee.
As a result, the developer of ChatGPT is now able to legally provide digital services in the country and pay value-added tax (VAT).
It is worth noting that since 2020, Uzbekistan has required foreign companies providing electronic services to individuals to pay VAT. This includes major international corporations such as Google, Apple, Meta, Amazon, and others.
