Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 July, a ceremonial opening was held at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov to inaugurate the new "Tashkent - Sharm El Sheikh - Tashkent" route by the Uzbek airline Centrum Air.

The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Tourism Committee, Centrum Air, travel companies, media, and passengers of the flight.

The initial flights will operate once a week, on Sundays, using an Airbus 321neo aircraft, with a capacity of 190 economy class seats and 12 business class seats.

The launch of flights to Sharm El Sheikh marks another significant step forward in Uzbekistan’s aviation industry, promoting an expanded flight network and fostering tourism among compatriots.

Centrum Air, a private airline specializing in passenger and cargo transportation, was founded in 2023 as part of a government initiative to improve flight quality for Uzbekistan residents. Since March 2024, Centrum Air has been operating regular flights to Batumi, Doha, Dubai, Tbilisi, Saint Petersburg, Samarkand, Urgench, and Tashkent.
