Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Airlines from Uzbekistan Centrum Air and Qanot Sharq are seeking to launch regular flights to Chinese cities, the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan said.

Representatives of the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Agency and Uzaeronavigatsia met with a delegation from China to discuss the expansion of air services between the two countries.

In the upcoming spring-summer season, it is planned to open flights between Tashkent and the Chinese cities of Beijing, Xinyang and Chengdu.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to begin flights from Tashkent to Chinese cities such as Shanghai, Hainan, Sanya and Hangzhou. In addition, regular flights from Samarkand to Urumqi are planned.

Centrum Air and Qanot Sharq airlines have successfully completed the certification procedure, meeting the requirements of the Chinese authorities, and received permission to operate regular flights to China.
