Centers of intellectual leisure to resume their activity in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 22 May, in the zones of “yellow” and “green” quarantine levels, it is allowed to resume the activities of museums, art galleries and outdoor walking areas. The Special Republican Commission for the Control of Coronavirus gave its opinion on this matter.

This decision was made in order to create amenities for the population.

The statement of the commission emphasizes that at the entrance to the indicated places all visitors are asked to adhere to the quarantine requirements introduced in the country since March of this year.

It is worth saying that today in Uzbekistan there are 110 different museums, 98 of which, including branches of state museums, are under the leadership of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

There are about a dozen large art galleries in Tashkent, where regular exhibitions of fine art are held, ancient folk art objects, antiques and other objects that are part of the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan are exhibited.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 20 May visited the Museum of Tashkent, organized near the Alley of Writers. The museum collection contains about 1000 exhibits that reflect the history of the city’s culture.

The museum exposition reflects the ancient past, customs and traditions, science, culture and art of the region with a history of 2200 years. The exhibits are commented on in three languages: Uzbek, Russian and English. Additional information is provided using monitors, information kiosks and other technologies.
