Center on repairing composite airplanes to be launched in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Havo Yollari national airline and the US company Boeing will open center on repairing elements of constructions of the airplanes, made from composite materials, the representative of the US firm said.

Speaking at annual the US-Uzbek Business Forum in Washington, Bryan M. Lopp, Director of International Operations of Boeing, said that the company considers Uzbekistan as key partner in Central Asia and is planning to deepen business cooperation.

He said that it is planned to launch the center of repairing composite airplanes in Tashkent, which will be the only in the region. The center will provide maintenance services to aircrafts of latest generation Boeing-787 Dreamliner.

As earlier reported, Boeing specialists selected new premises of the shop in Tashkent from several proposed. It is expected that Boeing provided its recommendations on composition of the shop. Boeing representatives said that they want to help Uzbek colleagues to construct new shop in line with FAA and EASA requirements.

Plans on launch of the regional center on repairing and maintenance of modern airplanes from composite materials in Uzbekistan were announced in June 2012.

It is worth to mention that Uzbekistan Havo Yollari will receive two airplanes Boeing-787 Dreamliner by the end of 2016.
