CEC: Over 1 million voted early in parliamentary elections

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — More than 1 million citizens have voted early in the parliamentary elections in Uzbekistan, the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan reported.

According to the CEC, a total of 1,015,948 voters participated in early voting across the country.

The highest turnout was recorded in Ferghana region, where 219,450 people cast their votes.

Following in second and third places are the Samarkand and Kashkadarya regions, with 181,920 and 153,360 voters, respectively.

Early voting took place from October 16 to 23 within Uzbekistan and at the country's diplomatic missions abroad.

It is worth noting that the parliamentary elections will be held on Sunday, October 27.

In Uzbekistan, 208 district and city electoral commissions have been established, along with more than 11,000 precinct election commissions.
