Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Central Bank of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting between bank management and the delegation of the World Bank.
The representatives of the World Bank were provided with detailed information about the process of denationalization and privatization of banks, the widespread introduction of corporate governance principles into the activities of commercial banks. The importance of applying corporate reforms in state-owned commercial banks of Uzbekistan was noted.
During the dialogue, issues related to changes in commercial lending, the share of bank loans for the private sector, subsidized lending in agriculture and housing and communal services, and other issues were also discussed.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue discussions on these issues in the future.
