Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Central Bank of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with Yassir Abdikh, the newly appointed head of the International Monetary Fund Mission to Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current macroeconomic situation in the country, the ongoing monetary policy, the process of transformation and privatization of state-owned enterprises and banks, as well as measures to reduce inflation expectations.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for joint cooperation in the areas of macroeconomic modeling, improvement of monetary policy instruments and currency regulation in Uzbekistan.
