Annually, the World Wildlife Foundation is organizing campaign Earth Hour on last Saturday of March and it is directed at decreasing greenhouse emission to environment. Millions of people and companies are switching off electricity voluntary at their houses and offices. Earth Hour initiative was launched in Australia in 2007. Over 2.2 million participated in the first campaign and over 1 billion people from 128 countries in 2010.
Carlsberg Uzbekistan is one of the first companies in Uzbekistan, which participated in the campaign and it is part of its social responsibility. In 2011, Carlsberg Uzbekistan was supported by Beeline and bm group, which also participated at the campaign.
Evgeniy Shevchenko, Carlsberg Uzbekistan director-general, said Earth Hour is campaign directed at protecting nature. Carlsberg Uzbekistan is one of 21 Carlsberg Group companies, which voluntarily switch off electricity for an hour. He added that this year Carlsberg Uzbekistan was joined by Beeline and bm group.
