Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 March, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change will hold in Tashkent a campaign “Car-Free Day”.
The main goal of the action is to promote a healthy lifestyle and attract public attention to the problems of protecting the environment from harmful emissions created by cars.
This initiative is carried out within the framework of the implementation of the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan from 21 February 2024 “On the state program for the implementation of the strategy “Uzbekistan - 2030” in the Year of Support for Youth and Business.”
According to the decree, the public project “Car Free Day” will be held in Tashkent monthly.
However, the restriction will not apply to public transport, as well as to special and emergency services vehicles.
Ministers and other employees of all republican and executive authorities whose offices are located in Tashkent are instructed to “show a personal example by arriving at the workplace by public transport.”
