Capsule hotel at Tashkent airport: what will it be like?

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A capsule hotel will appear at the capital’s airport for the first time. Another block in the sterile zone will soon be commissioned, which will include bathrooms, rooms for ablution and prayers, the Anjir business lounge and the first capsule hotel at the airports of Uzbekistan.

“These will not be just capsules, but small cozy cabins with a full-fledged single bed and a minimal set of accessories - a lamp, a clothes hanger, a shelf for hand luggage, a table. The essence of the capsules is that the passenger can stay in it for several hours during the transfer, without leaving the airport and without leaving the transit zone,” the company’s press service noted.

For visitors to the capsule hotel, an information board, bathrooms and a shower room are provided, reception will work around the clock and an individual landing invitation system will be provided for each room. The hotel provides accommodation for 27 capsules on two floors. On the ground floor there will also be a reception desk, bathrooms and a shower room. The hotel will be built in an oriental style, just like the recently opened Art Bazaar shopping pavilion. The well-known artist Bobur Ismailov was involved in the work on the project.

“The airport of the capital is turning into a modern international hub before our eyes, and I am very glad to make my modest contribution to its transformation. Our capsule hotel is designed in a completely different style than similar hotels in many airports around the world. We tried to convey the authenticity and luxury of the East, and in the capsules themselves to preserve European minimalism and compactness. Unfortunately, not every transit passenger can stay in Uzbekistan and see the ancient cities and culture. Therefore, our goal was to create an authentic atmosphere right at the airport,” said artist Bobur Ismailov.

The capsule hotel is planned to be transferred to the management of a professional hotelier (hotel / hotel chain). The corresponding lot (No. 4974858) for renting the area is put up on the electronic platform E-auksion.uz. The total area of the hotel is 240 sq.m, the starting annual cost is 325,440,000 soums. Companies that meet the terms of reference prescribed by the lessor can take part
