Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan adopted a corresponding resolution, which is directed at improving activity of Uzbekistan National Library named after Alisher Navoi, creating principle new information-library establishment, oriented at satisfying intellectual need of population, preserving and increasing cultural, spiritual-moral values, as well as proper functioning of “Ma’rifat Markazi” as single social-cultural and educational-establishment center.

According to the resolution, State Establishment “Specialized Direction on exploitation of buildings and adjacent territory of the building “Ma’rifat Markazi” will be created under the Tashkent city administration. The government handed over the building “Ma’rifat Markazi” to the balance of the Specialized directions.

The direction will ensure, in line with the established norms and standards, careful and effective use of the building “Ma’rifat Markazi” and supporting infrastructure of the building at the proper level, accomplishment and cleanness of the adjacent territory, as well as taking care after plants.

The direction will also ensure reliable functioning of technologic equipment, information and engineering-communication systems of the building, maintenance of machines, mechanisms and buildings.

The enterprise will assist to holding of various international symposiums, congresses and conferences at the building of “Ma’rifat Markazi” based on application of ministries, departments and organizations in agreement with the Cabinet of Ministers. It will also ensure security of the building.

In line with the resolution, Uzbekistan National Library named after Alisher Navoi will be located at the building of “Ma’rifat Markazi”.

According to the decision of the government, the financing of the activity of the Uzbekistan National Library will be carried out due to state budget of Uzbekistan, funds, received from paid services, and other sources, which are not banned in line with the legislation.

Uzbekistan National Library named after Alisher Navoi will be headed by the director, who will be appointed and fired in line with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the document said.
