Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A 38-year-old Buzruk Buzrukov has been sentenced to 13 years and six months in prison.
In December 2023, Buzrukov was detained by law enforcement agencies, and an investigation was initiated against him under Part 2 of Article 277 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code.
The Yashnabad District Criminal Court found Buzrukov guilty under subparagraph “a” of Part 2 of Article 277 (hooliganism) and subparagraph “a” of Part 3 of Article 165 (extortion) of the Criminal Code. Consequently, he was sentenced to 13 years and six months in prison.
According to the case materials, in the spring of 2012, Buzrukov received sports nutrition worth $2,020 from an acquaintance but failed to make payment. In July 2022, he assaulted a citizen, Sh. V., at one of the capital’s establishments, causing moderate bodily harm.
In May 2023, Buzrukov, along with an accomplice, D. I., extorted $479,000 from a citizen, S. I., threatening to harm his health. They managed to obtain $13,000, which they shared between themselves.
Buzrukov has filed an appeal against the sentence, with the hearing scheduled for 8 August.
