Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Bunyodkor football club reached an agreement with Brazilian football players Rivaldo and Denilson regarding a debt dispute.

As previously reported, the disciplinary committee of the International Football Federation (FIFA) on 22 February made a decision obliging Bunyodkor to pay a debt of 8.16 million euros to Rivaldo and $1.11 million to Denilson.

According to this decision, the club was found guilty of failing to fully comply with the decision of the FIFA National Dispute Resolution Chamber (NDRC) from 21 September 2017. This was confirmed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on 6 November 2023.

FIFA gave Bunyodkor 30 days to pay this amount. Otherwise, the organization would be subject to sanctions.

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee also prohibited the club from registering new players.

The club from Tashkent noted that according to the licensing requirements of the Asian Football Confederation, Bunyodkor had to resolve issues related to debts by 31 March. Following the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement on 30 March. Thus, the team was able to upload the necessary documents to the licensing platform.

“According to FIFA’s decision, Bunyodkor had to repay the debt to Rivaldo and Denilson by 7 April of this year. The agreed amounts were significantly reduced. In addition, the debt to Denilson will be paid in three installments until 2026, and payments to Rivaldo will be made annually until 2028,” the club said.

However, the club did not disclose by what amount the debt was reduced and by what sources it will be repaid.
