Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- AFC Champions League Round of 16 side Bunyodkor thrashed Kyzylkum 4-1 in the eighth round of the Uzbekistan League on Sunday. Bunyodkor are preparing to play Iran’s Sepahan, who finished runners-up in the 2007 edition of the AFC Champions League, in this edition’s Round of 16 on May 24. The Uzbek champions were hardly troubled by the hosts as Anvar Soliev (35), Milos Trifunovic (67, 80) and Kamoliddin Murzaev (90+2) hit the target. Leonid Koshelev (47) pulled one back from the spot for the losers. The win gave Bunyodkor a two-point lead over Nasaf, an AFC Cup Round of 16 team, on 22 points. Goals by Artur Gevorkyan (45+1) and Nosir Otakuziev (56) gave Nasaf a 2-0 win over Mashal. Pakhtakor beat Navbahor 2-1 with goals from Temur Abduhalikov (29) and Dusan Savic (36). Otabek Validjanov (32) was on the mark for the losing side. Pakhtakor are now on 19 points. In other matches, Almalyk destroyed Metallurg 4-1, Sogdiana beat Bukhara 2-1 and Neftchi defeated Dynamor 1-0.
