Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — For the first time, from the night of 31 August to 1 September 2024, one of Budapest’s most iconic architectural landmarks, the Fisherman’s Bastion, was illuminated in the colors of the Uzbek flag.
This event was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Hungary with the support of OTP Bank to mark the 33rd anniversary of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s State Independence.
The Fisherman’s Bastion, located in the historic Buda Castle District, is one of Budapest’s main attractions.
This landmark, drawing thousands of tourists from around the world, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site and symbolizes Hungary’s rich history.
The illumination of the Fisherman’s Bastion in the colors of the Uzbek flag became a symbol of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. This gesture highlights the significance and importance of celebrating State Independence for Uzbekistan and its people.
