Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A briefing on the theme “Uzbekistan is the birthplace of great scientists” was held on 15 March 2019 in the United States, which was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the USA with the support of the American non-profit foundation “Unity Productions Foundation” and our compatriots in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania).
The event participants with great interest got acquainted with the comprehensive reforms carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and learned about the efforts of the Government of Uzbekistan to widely disseminate the rich cultural heritage and traditions of scholarly and tolerant Islam inherent in our people.
As part of the briefing, the Uzbek delegation headed by director Jahongir Akhmedov, who arrived in the United States, conducted substantive talks with the director of UPF American media company Daniel Tutt about filming a series of films, revealing the role of prominent personalities of the Uzbek people in world history and the potential for the development of earth-tourism in the country by popularizing the scientific achievements of our great ancestors.
As a result, an agreement was reached on organizing the filming of three feature films in Uzbekistan, including one multi-part film, as well as short films about the historical, cultural and religious landmarks of our country. The fund intends to incur part of the costs.
As Daniel Tutt noted, “we held a very significant event with the participation of scientists, representatives of official and cultural-humanitarian circles of the United States. They substantively focused on the contribution of such scholars as Avicenna, Al-Bukhariy, Matrudiy, and others. They separately discussed the possibility and prospects for popularizing their outstanding works in the Western world. As a result of my recent trip to Uzbekistan, where I had a better look at the works of the great scientists of your country and signed a memorandum of cooperation with Uzbekkino. And in the near future we plan to begin work on the filming of a series of films dedicated to the historical personalities of Uzbekistan, which have made an invaluable contribution to world civilization.”
