Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Brazil claimed a 2-1 victory in their World Cup Group G opener against North Korea at the Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg.

Brave Koreans held the favourites for almost an hour, but Maicon broke the deadlock with a stunning goal. Elano scored the second goal in the 72nd minute to seal the win for Brazilians.

But a superb goal from Ji Yun-Nam in the 89th minute set samba pulses racing as Carlos Dunga’s side held on to go top of the group.
