Board of Foreign Ministry discuss attraction of investments

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 January, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held an expanded meeting of members of the Foreign Ministry collegium on implementation of the instructions of the head of our state to attract foreign direct investment to the economy, promote the export of domestic goods and services abroad, an increase in the tourist flow, as well as the development of the economy of the regions of Uzbekistan assigned to diplomatic missions.

The heads of foreign diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan attended the meeting via video conference, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

As the Minister emphasized in his speech, on 11 January 2018, during a meeting with Foreign Ministry officials, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev set specific tasks for the Central Office of the Ministry and the diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan abroad to expand and strengthen economic ties with foreign countries, international financial and other organizations and structures.

In the Message of the President to the Oliy Majlis and at the video-selector meeting on 8 January 2019, devoted to the investment program for the current year, the head of our state identified priority areas of activity and specific targets for this year. At the meeting, a number of ambassadors of Uzbekistan were heard.

According to the results of the critical analysis, the Central Office and the overseas missions were set specific tasks for the unconditional implementation of the instructions of the head of state for 2019.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Viktor Makhmudov.
