Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights has fined Biznesni Rivojlantirish Banki for violating advertising laws.
During a monitoring process conducted by the committee, it was found that the bank provided incomplete and misleading information about loan terms both on advertising monitors in Tashkent and on its online platform.
For instance, in advertisements such as "Business loan of 1.5 billion, 17.5% annual interest" and "From 17% annual interest, mortgage for a new apartment," essential details such as the exact interest rate, repayment term, and other loan conditions were missing.
As a result, the Special Commission of the Committee initiated a case for violating the "Advertising Law" and the "Consumer Protection Law." The bank was fined and instructed to rectify the violations and ensure that such issues do not occur in the future.
