Delegations from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as the Secretariat of the Convention attended the event.

The main goal of the consultations is to develop ways of realization of Rotterdam, Basel and Stockholm Convention in sphere of control over old pesticides and chemical means to decrease damage to population and environment.

Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan ratified the Rotterdam Convention from Central Asia. The event allowed Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan to study mechanisms and conditions of ratification of the Convention to implement further steps on its execution and decrease risks for population.

Besides, the consultations will allow form regional network of experts in the sphere of ecology and protection of environment, which will strengthen cooperation of the countries in the region.
