Beeline’s revenue increases by 10.3% in 2Q

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Revenue of Beeline in Uzbekistan grew by 10.3% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2018– to 635 billion soums, VEON said in a statement.

At the same time, the operator’s revenue made up 1.25 trillion soums in the first half of 2018, which grew by 14.9% year-on-year.

Revenue in the mobile services segment totaled 629 billion soums in the second quarter of 2018 (+ 10%) and by 14.7% - to 1.24 trillion soums.

Revenue from data transmission services in the second quarter of 2018 period exceeded 213 billion soums (+53.1%) and 400 billion soums (+46.1%) in the first half of 2018.

EBITDA (operating profit before depreciation of fixed assets, amortization of intangible assets and losses associated with depreciation of assets) in Uzbekistan in the second quarter of  2018 reached 277 billion soums, which is 11.5% less than in the same period of 2017. EBITDA decreased by 4.3% in the first half of 2018 and reached 553 billion soums.

At the same time, the margin of operations decreased from 54.3% in the second quarter of 2017 to 43.5% for the same period of 2018.

According to the results of the second quarter of 2018, the subscriber base of Beeline in Uzbekistan totaled 9.3 million people, which is 3.1% less than in the second quarter of 2017. At the same time, data transfer services are used by 5 million people in the reporting period (+ 10.3%).

Average bill for a mobile subscriber per month (ARPU) made up 22,018 soums in the second quarter of 2018, which is 10.9% more compared to the same period of 2017.

Indicator MOU (minutes of use) reached 468 minutes in the reporting period compared with 578 minutes in the same period of 2017 (- 1.8%). The use of data transfer per user grew by 158.9% in the second quarter of 2018 to 1014 MB.
