The operator said that the agreements on rendering GPRS-roaming services has been launched with TELUS (Canada), CADCOMMS (Cambodia), Telefonica O2 (The Czech Republic), Oman Mobile (Oman) и Vodafone Kerala (India).
At the same time, Beeline subscribers can use voice roaming service at networks of Viva (Bahrain), MTN (Benin) and Vodafone Kerala (India). CAMEL-roaming service is now available at the networks of Tango (Luxemburg) and Telefonica O2 (The Czech Republic).
Unitel technical director Anton Golikov said that currently Beeline roaming covers over 90% of world, but the company continues to expand its roaming. The status of number one roaming partner in Uzbekistan obliges the company to expand this direction, he added.
Beeline subscribers can also use CAMEL roaming. The service allows to use Beeline communication services at any positive balance, in other words without guarantee fee of US$50 and till the balance of subscriber reaches US$0. At the same time, the funds will be written off in real time regime. CAMEL roaming does not requires activation and it is automatically enabled in handsets. The service can use any individual subscribers, connected to pre-paid tariffs at any positive balance.
Unitel was founded in 1996. The company started commercial activity on 25 September 1997. Currently, it is one of the leaders among GSM-operators in Uzbekistan. At the end of third quarter of 2010, the company had over 4.4 million subscribers. On 9 February 2006, Unitel became part of VimpelCom Group, one of the largest mobile communication operators in Russia and CIS. On 12 September 2006, Unitel started to render services under Beeline brand. On 2 December 2008, Unitel announced about commercial 3G network.
