The operator said that number of people, who want to congratulate relatives and friends, is increasing on New Year days and peak load falls to the first hours of New Year. At the same time, number of SMS messages increases significantly compared to calls.

From 31 December 2011 to 1 January 2012, Beeline delivered 34 million SMS message. The operator said that if one SMS is equal to one New Year card, Beeline subscribers helped to save 300 tonnes of paper or 15,000 trees.

The operator noted that Beeline subscribers sent 600 SMS messages per second during the first hour of 2012.
