Beeline chief says wide-scale investments were right decision
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Beeline, wholly owned subsidiary of Vimpelcom in Uzbekistan, invested US$75 million to development its business in the country in the first half of 2012.

Beeline CEO Andrey Safranyuk said that the company invested over US$219 million to develop its basic station, including 3G networks, in 2011 and the first six months of 2012. He said that this was crucial to ensure uninterrupted work of network on such load.

Andrey Safranyuk stated that the company continues to invest to its network and it will speed up this work in the second half of 2012. He said that the main goal of Beeline is to ensure quality services. He said soon the company plans to cover 95% of population with GSM network. At the same time, 52% of population will receive 3G network.

Beeline chief said that the block rate of Beeline made up 1.8% in Uzbekistan, but in last month the figure made up 4%.

He said that technical direction is doing its best to improve the situation. Safronyuk underlined that the cutoff call in last month did not exceed 1%.
