Beck - Muller set up title clash for Tashkent Challenger
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Fifth seeded and 126th ranked Karl Beck of Slovakia and 164th ranked and Seventh seeded Gilles Muller of Luxemburg will clash with each other for the winners crown at the finals of the US$125,000 Tashkent Challenger, an ATP Challenger series event being played at the Olympic tennis Stadium on Sunday.

In the semifinals played today Fifth seeded Karl Beck of Slovakia scored a 6-4, 6-7(4),6-2 win over fourth seeded Dustin Brown of Jamaica in 2hrs and 09 minutes , while seventh seeded Gilles Muller of Luxemburg stopped the winning run of giant killer Andreas Haider - Maurer 6-3,6-4 in just over an hour.

In the best match of the day, Fifth seeded and 127th ranked Karl Beck of Slovakia created a minor flutter knocking out crowd favorite and fourth seeded Dustin Brown 6-4,6-7(4),6-2 in a well contested final.

In the fisrt set both players looked well matched till the 10th game , wher Beck hit two wonderful down the line forehands to win the game at Love and break Dustin to go up 1-0 in the match.

In the second set both players played their style of tennis to out wit each other to the enjoyment of crowds. Dustin egged on by crowds served exceedingly well in the tie break and hit two winners to win 7-4 in the tie break and take the second set forcing the decider.

In the final set Beck raced to a 4-1 lead breaking the Jamaican in the 1st and the 5th games and then just held to his serves and move into the finals after a gap of around 8 months. "I'm thrilled to be in two finals in two days and it's very difficult to beat a player like Dustin, but I played very well ", said Beck after his match.

Beck will now clash with silent killer and 164th ranked seventh seed Gilles Muller of Luxemburg who had a easier outing today winning 6-3,6-4 in straight sets against the 23 year old Andreas Haider- Maurer from Zwettl in Austria .

Andreas Maurer who had upset the top seeded Rainer Schuettler yesterday looked jaded today being broken in the very first game of the match and again in the 9th game to go down 6-3

Muller who has reached three finals of challengers earlier in the year, looked determined to finish the match early hitting as many as 10 aces in the second set. Muller broke Haider -Maurer in the 10th game in the second set to clinch the match and make it to the finals. "This win has been convincing and probably the best match of the tournament," said the 27 year Muller. I served and returned well, he added.
