Banks of Uzbekistan provided loans for 141.3 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Commercial banks of Uzbekistan issued loans in the amount of 141.3 trillion soums in January-September 2012, according to the date of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

According to the regulator, compared to the same period in 2021, the volume of allocated loans increased by 18%.

In January-September 2022, banks on average provided loans in the amount of 15.7 trillion soums.

The Central Bank notes that 58% of these loans (96.4 trillion soums) were allocated to corporate clients, and 32% to retail clients.

Commercial banks of Uzbekistan in the reporting period provided loans in the amount of 35.6 trillion soums to support business entities, in particular to replenish working capital.

The regulator notes that 28% of the allocated loans were short-term, and 72% were long-term loans.

At the same time, commercial banks provided 65% of loans in national currency and 35% in foreign currency.

As of 1 October 2022, the total loan portfolio of banks in Uzbekistan is 363 trillion soums. At the same time, 75% of these loans were provided to corporate clients, and 25% - to retail clients.

The total balance of the loan portfolio increased by 11% or 36.5 trillion soums compared to the beginning of 2022. In annual terms, this figure increased by 16%. At the same time, the volume of corporate loans increased by 6% (15.6 trillion soums), and retail loans - by 30%.
