Banks of Uzbekistan issue about 10.85m banking cards
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of banking cards, issued by commercial banks into circulation, made up about 10.854 million units as of 1 December 2013.

According to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, some 10.807 million banking cards are owned by individuals, 30,503 corporate cards – legal entities and 15,702 corporate cards – individual businesspersons.

Agrobank, National Bank of Uzbekistan and People’s Bank are leading on number of issued cards. Agrobank issued over 2.343 million cards, NBU – over 1.738 million cards and People’s Bank – about 1.463 million cards.

Asaka Bank issued 1.148 million cards, Ipoteka Bank – 1.012 million cards and Uzpromstroybank 883,203 cards.

The lowest number of banking cards were issued by Samarkand Bank (1,075 cards) and Hi-Tech Bank (5,486 cards).

The largest number of banking cards was issued in Tashkent city (2.349 million cards), Ferghana region (about 1.024 million cards) and Kashkadarya region (986,600 cards).

Commercial banks of Uzbekistan installed about 126,307 units of POS-terminals and 1,726 units of ATMs and infokiosks.

Agrobank, People’s Bank, Ipoteka Bank and NBU are leading on number of installed POS-terminals. Agrobank installed 19,959 POS-terminals, People’s Bank – 19,307 POS-terminals, Ipoteka Bank – 14,781 POS-terminals and NBU - 14,541 POS-terminals.

Kapitalbank (527 units), Hamkorbank (295 units) and NBU (242 units) are leading on number of installed ATMs and infokiosks.

Largest number of terminals was installed in Tashkent city (26,636 units), Tashkent region (11,372 units), Ferghana region (10,939 units) and Samarkand (10,265 units).

Tashkent (678 units), Ferghana region (155 units), Andijan region (123 units) and Samarkand region (120 units) are leading on number of installed ATMs and infokiosks.
