Banks actively implement state programme “The Year of Family”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Commercial banks of Uzbekistan will pay great attention to financial support of business subjects, first of all creation of conditions for preferential financing of their business plans, in 2012 in line with the state programme “The Year of Family”.

Central Bank of Uzbekistan said that the measures are adopted to direct about 4.5 trillion soums to this sector due to all sources of financing. The volume of microloans will make up 843 billion soums.

Preferential loans for 28.3 billion soums will be issued to finance business plans of graduates of professional colleges’ graduates.

It is also planned to issue 68 billion soums to support business activities of young families and 365 billion soums to develop business of women.

Commercial banks will issue 40 billion soums to finance projects on introduction of high technologies and innovation, creation small business, production capacities and farms through Special Fund for Preferential Crediting.

The banks also pay attention to social protection of young families through material and moral support. In 2012-2013, it is planned to construct 100 houses with 48 apartments in each due to resources of commercial banks. The young families can receive mortgage loans for 15 years under interest rate not bigger than refinancing rate of the Central Bank (now 12% APR).

The commercial banks developed consumer loans for young families, with help of which they can purchase locally made products.

Central Bank said that the banks increased the volume of crediting by 1.5 times year-on-year in 2011 and 4.041 trillion soums.

Graduates of professional colleges received 25.6 billion soums of preferential microloans in 2011. The growth rate made up 3.2 times year-on-year.

Microcreditbank rendered microfinance services to small businesses for 159.7 billion soums in 2011, which is 1.3 times more year-on-year.

In order to develop small business and craftsmanship, the volume of rendered microfinance services reached 54.1 billion soums, which grew 1.8 times year-on-year.
