Banking Sector of Uzbekistan Reduces Non‑Performing Loans to 3.8% in June

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In June 2025, the loan portfolio of Uzbekistan’s banking sector grew by 1.3%, surpassing 575.2 trillion soums, according to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan. At the same time, the share of non‑performing loans (NPLs) in the sector decreased from 4.1% to 3.8%.

In state‑owned banks, the indicator fell from 4.1% to 3.8%, while in private banks it declined from 4.3% to 3.9%.

Some of the most notable improvements were recorded at Ipoteka Bank, where the NPL share dropped from 9.5% to 6.6%; Garant Bank — from 18.9% to 16.7%; Ziraat Bank — from 6.3% to 4.6%; and Business Development Bank — from 7.8% to 6.1%.

Other banks also reported declines: Agrobank (from 4.2% to 3.8%), Asakabank (from 4.8% to 4.5%), Aloqabank (from 2.7% to 2.4%), and Orient Finans Bank (from 2.2% to 1.9%).

However, several banks saw their NPL ratios increase. Poytakht Bank rose from 0% to 3.2%; Smart Bank from 0% to 1.3%; Anor Bank from 3.1% to 3.8%; Invest Finance Bank from 2.3% to 2.8%; TBC Bank from 3.7% to 4.1%; and Davr Bank from 3.0% to 3.3%.
