Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 January, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held a meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.

In his statement, published on his Telegram channel, the head of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted:

"I am pleased to welcome Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Deepening the strategic partnership between our brotherly countries is a priority of our agenda. The leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan have laid a solid foundation for maintaining the positive dynamics of bilateral relations.

In today’s meeting, we discussed all aspects of cooperation at both the bilateral and multilateral levels. The upcoming year 2025 promises to be eventful: a series of intensive exchanges at all levels and in various sectors are planned. I congratulate our Turkmen friends on the beginning of the International Year of Peace and Trust, initiated by Turkmenistan."

During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of cooperation issues, with particular attention given to the prospects for strengthening bilateral relations and implementing joint initiatives.
